| Sample #1: Where Am I Going to Put on My Weight? | |
|
Of course every pregnancy and every woman is different - but based on my experience in working with women - where you will carry your extra pregnancy weight depends on your BODY TYPE. There are two MAIN body types for women: There are also two other less common body types: Some Ground Rules for Understanding Body Types: 2) An apple can’t become a pear or visa versa. When pregnant, the apple is a “pregnant apple” and a pear is a “pregnant pear”. 3) You can be a combination of two body types. For example, I am a “pear/celery”. How do I know what BODY TYPE I am? 2. The “PEAR” on the other hand is “bottom” heavy. She has narrow shoulders, a relatively small waist, little lower tummy and larger hips and upper thighs. The buttocks are curved and rounded and the thighs extend outward laterally and may touch or rub on the inside. Bread, chocolate and cheese (creams) are her favorites. 3. The “CELERY” body is straight up and down. She typically likes stimulants like coffee and cigarettes (hopefully not using either while pregnant!). The celery is thin and her weight gain in pregnancy is usually all tummy. 4. The “CAULIFLOWER” body is round and puffy. She typically likes salty food and puts on weight evenly throughout her body. The “cauliflower” usually has problems with water retention To learn more about safe and effective exercise for pregnancy see inside!
