How To Lose Pregnancy Weight FASTBy: Michelle Moss
In fact, everywhere you turn some tabloid is commenting on HOW MUCH weight so and so gained and HOW FAST she took if off. And as far as I can tell, Denise Richards has won first prize for losing ALL of her pregnancy weight after only 2 weeks, that's right, 2 weeks! For these celebrities, the entire world is watching and judging them on how to lose their pregnancy pounds fast (personally, I'd HATE to be in their shoes!). I mean poor Britney Spears (who's now lost all, if not most, of her pregnancy weight) was absolutely brutalized not only for the amount of weight she gained, but also how bad she looked during her pregnancy. Star magazine reported "Spears' pre-pregnancy weight was about 105 pounds (48Kg), but she gained 50 pounds (23Kg) during pregnancy more than the desired average of 25 to 35 pounds (11Kg to 16Kg)". US Weekly reported "when Britney Spears gained 50 pounds (23Kg) during her pregnancy, she ended up being very unhappy with how she looks." The source added, "She hates being fat and is embarrassed by what's happened to her. Will she be able to lose the extra pounds?" My Opinion:Firstly, let me tell you that the often-quoted range of 25 to 35 pounds for "normal" weight gain is just a standard. As with all standards, it is an average range that does NOT always apply to every woman. A prime example is Kate Hudson who gained 60 pounds (27Kg), which I can't even imagine - I thought I had gained a lot when I put on 47 pounds (21Kg) during my pregnancy. (Not to mention that Kate Hudson is now suing the tabloids for saying that she has an eating disorder because she is TOO THIN! You can't win!) A woman's weight gain DURING pregnancy is dependent on her PRE-PREGNANCY weight, meaning Kate Hudson and Britney Spears who were underweight to begin with, gained the right amount of weight for their size!
That's not to say that the rest of us don't work hard, but for celebrities, it's their job to look good (I mean Denise Richards admitted that it was "a stress diet and busting her ass working out that got her to her pre-pregnancy weight so fast"). I know it's hard not to get swept up in the "lose weight fast race", especially when you're feeling fat and not yet fitting into your clothes. But you need to keep in mind that a healthy and safe post-pregnancy weight loss rate is 1-2 pounds per week. If you do it right, it will be permanent and you'll be much happier with the results. And don't misunderstand me, just because you're not a celebrity, doesn't mean you can't look good and feel great during and after your pregnancy - you can! Here are some tips to get you started losing those pregnancy pounds fast.
