Positive Thinking During Labor and Delivery

Dear Michelle:

I just had to comment on your 6/7 newsletter "The Secret to an Easy Labor."
You are absolutely right and I can only hope that more women use positive
thinking during labor and delivery! Me and my husband used our 9 months
(really 10!) to educate ourselves about pregnancy and delivery and the most
valuable thing we learned was that a woman's body is designed to carry and
deliver babies. Many women forget this and get themselves all worked up and
tense during labor.

I chose to relax and let it happen. I truly believe that my 'power of mind,' my Zen CD, and, of course, my wonderfully supportive husband helped make our birthing experience a completely pleasant one. I had a little mantra that got me through labor: 'I inhale and relax, I exhaled and let my body do the work.' It worked for me!

BTW: Love your book. It's just what I needed to get me motivated this
second time around.
